In 1976, Mark Pesavento began the practice with his first client…a periodontist. From that first client to today we have concentrated our energies and resources to the health care industry. Over 68% of our business client base consists of health care providers and over 81% of those clients are in the dental profession. Although we have dental clients located in all four corners of America most of the 340 dental clients we serve are in the Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana and Wisconsin area. We purposely specialize in the dental profession to bring the very best in experience, knowledge, and empathy when working with every doctor. Because of this extensive experience and knowledge of your profession, we are quicker to understand the concerns of your practice, the demands of personnel, the need of monitoring the financial reports and accounts receivable, and the desire for future financial security. Above all, however, we understand the uniqueness of each professional and the need for TIMELY services.
We have a total staff of eighteen, fourteen professional staff members, seven of which are CPAs. Also Mark, Elaine and Chris have their Masters Degree in Taxation. We annually exceed the required forty hours of continuing professional education and because of the firm’s specialty in tax most of our continuing education is focused in attending tax programs. Also as members of the Tax Division of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants we receive the very latest thoughts on Capitol Hill activities. We have been invited by several dental study groups to speak on the latest tax and estate issues. In addition to tax, other firm specialties include concentrations in financial planning, retirement plans and fringe benefits consulting, professional firm practice transition and valuation, and practice management consulting. We also provide assistance in establishing computerized accounting systems for the dental office. We are members of Intuit’s QuickBooks Pro Advisor Program and have developed a chart of accounts for the QuickBooks program based on The Pankey Institute format, which is easily modified to fit the specific needs of any dental office.
Our professional association memberships include the American Institute of CPAs, the Illinois CPA Society, the National Society of Accountants, the National Association of Health Care Consultants, the Personal Financial Planning Section and the Tax Division of the A.I.C.P.A. We are also the ILLINOIS and INDIANA representative member of the Academy of Dental CPAs, a national organization of CPAs and consultants that gather to share ideas and experiences of their specialty niche - dental practices. This group’s combined dental profession coverage exceeds 6,000 practices.
